If we're giving a winner based on the number of nods, the 2010 victor is Lady Gaga. She earned 13 nominations - and she is the first artist to ever receive two nods in the Vid of the Year category... meanwhile Eminem got runner-up this year with 8 nominations. There were even some first-time VMA-ers including Justin Bieber for Best New Artist, Ke$ha for Best New Artist, Best Female Vid and Best Pop Video, Drake in the Best Male Video and Best Hip Hop Vid Categories, BoB for Best Male Video, Best Collaboration, Best Pop Video, Best Hip Hop Video and Video of the Year.
