Netflix Wii Users Approaching One MillionTuesday, May 4th, 2010

Nintendo’s partnership with movies-on-demand service Netflix appears to be a resounding success, according to Nintendo president Fils-Aime. In a recent chat on CNBC ( via The Gate ), Fils-Aime said that around one million Wii owners have “participated” with Netflix streaming on the system since the service kicked off this April. Fils-Aime’s comment on the benchmark leaves a lot of room for interpretation. As The Gate ponders, it’s hard to tell if Fils-Aime is talking about one million users physically watching movies via the service or if he is boasting about the amount of discs Netflix sent out upon request.
